After the civil war that began the "Sunset of the Gods", a portion of the Elves disagreed with Lord Illianor Farfaren's declaration of peace with The Great King Leothur. These Elves were determined to separate from the divine light from the deep green forests, and retreat to the depths of the primeval forests. They live in the night, and seek to kill the fallen in the night. The Nightfall Rangers, corrupt Dark Elves, are fear-mongering existences hidden behind primeval forests. And they still exist today, even long after the age of the gods.
