Overview of Heroes in Rune Seeker (P.2)
Hello, The Chosen One! The previous part of the article introduced all the basic information and important aspects to note about Heroes in the world of Rune Seeker. In this part, we will explore the two main ways to enhance your Hero's power in the current Beta version: Upgrading Equipment and Elemental Affinity.
1. Upgrade Equipment

Each Hero has a set of equipment (gear) consisting of 4 pieces: Weapon, Armor, Ring, and Talisman. These pieces of equipment are default for each Hero, meaning they cannot be removed or changed.
Each piece of equipment includes the following information:
Main stats: this indicates the type of stat that each piece of equipment increases for the Hero. The main stat increases every time the player upgrades the equipment. Specifically:
Weapon: increases ATK
Armor: increases HP
Ring: increases SPD
Talisman: increases EQL
Level: equipment pieces start at level 0 and can be upgraded to a maximum level of 5.

*Note: the maximum level of the Talisman is 3 instead of 5 like other pieces of equipment.
To upgrade equipment, you'll need a specific amount of gold, smithing iron, and blueprints, as follows:
Level | Gold Cost | Smithing Iron Cost | Blueprints Cost |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 200 | 2 | 0 |
2 | 500 | 4 | 0 |
3 | 1500 | 6 | 0 |
4 | 2500 | 8 | 1 |
5 | 5000 | 10 | 2 |
2. Hero's Star
Did you know: During battle, Terrain has the ability to increase a significant amount of stats for adjacent Heroes of the same Element as that Terrain tile.
Each Hero starts with 1⭐ and can be upgraded to a maximum of 5⭐. The higher the star level, the more advantages the Hero will receive from Terrain of the same Element in the battle.

During the journey in Rune Seeker, if you receive duplicate Heroes, those duplicates will be converted into corresponding DP (Dupe Points). Each duplicate Hero can be converted into 1 DP. Players can use DP to upgrade their Hero's Elemental Affinity. Specifically:
Star Upgrade | DP Cost | Gold Cost |
---|---|---|
1 -> 2⭐ | 1 | 5000 |
2 -> 3⭐ | 2 | 10000 |
3 -> 4⭐ | 3 | 20000 |
4 -> 5 ⭐ | 4 | 40000 |
Details of the Hero advantage received from Terrain belonging to the same Element, corresponding to each level of Elemental Affinity:
Terrain | Element | 1 star Hero | 2 stars Hero | 3 stars Hero | 4 stars Hero | 5 stars Hero |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Lv1. Mountains | +2 Blocks per turn | +3 Blocks per turn | +4 Blocks per turn | +5 Blocks per turn | +6 Blocks per turn | |

Lv.2 Waters | Recover 6% HP each turn | Recover 8% HP each turn | Recover 10% HP each turn | Recover 12% HP each turn | Recover 14% HP each turn | |

Lv.2 Forest | +14% SPD | +16% SPD | +18% SPD | +20% SPD | +22% SPD |
*Note: A Hero's Elemental Affinity only increases beneficial stats received from Terrain of the same Element. And it has no effect on the disadvantage received from Terrain of the Element that counters the Hero itself.
